May 14th Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day: The refuge will open at 6:30am Saturday and Sunday ONLY for “early birders”. The auto tour will open for the season, the Friends Nature Store will be open 12pm-4pm, and refuge staff will provide a fun interactive presentation at 1pm.
June 3rd-5th Devils Run: Volunteers will have a greeting area at the visitor center parking lot to stamp participant cards.

Snowshoe at the Hill
Visit the refuge and go on a snowshoe adventure. This event is for all ages. No cost. Various sizes of snowshoes available. 12-4 PM on the following days: January 23 & 24; February 12 & 13; and February 26 & 27, 2022
Holiday Shopping at the Hill
The nature store inside the visitor center at White Horse Hill will be open for just 3 short hours on Saturday, December 18th from 11am - 2pm
Walk for the Wild
To celebrate National Wildlife Refuge week, October 9-16, people were encouraged to help wildlife and humans to thrive by committing to move a distance of 5K
Christmas Bird Count
All participants must arrange participation in advance by emailing colleen_graue@fws.gov
Participants are invited to meet at 12:30 PM at White Horse Hill for a free chili lunch to regroup and compile bird lists. Masks and social distancing required.
